ListServe Description and Purpose

WHY’s email discussion group, Growing Justice, connects grassroots organizations through the Reinvesting in America (RIA) program.  RIA identifies and champions the work of innovative grassroots hunger and poverty organizations that promote self-reliance by attacking the root causes of hunger and poverty.

The purpose of the email discussion, or listserv, is to engage in an active dialogue and to create a sense of community among organizations fighting hunger and poverty through community-based solutions.  This electronic discussion allows participants to exchange ideas related to program design and implementation, and to share “best practices” encouraging replication of successful and innovative programs.  Email list participants also share any information, such as funding opportunities, conferences, and related studies and articles, useful to grassroots organizations.
